We Need Interactive Whiteboards!

In my previous blog, I noted the importance of the involvement of Smart Tables for preschool age students. The resources and opportunities that Smart Tables provide are imperative in today's technology driven classrooms.

After using the Smart Table all year, the next logical step was to introduce my class to an interactive whiteboard. We had the opportunity to use the white board with a lesson on "Winter". The students were exposed to links, pictures, sounds, maps and most importantly interactive material. They were able to view igloos made in Germany, read about how animals survive in the cold weather and dress a snowman!

In my Pre-K classroom, I have only a few students that may not always be engaged in classroom readings, discussions and activities. However, interactions in every classroom is different. As a Pre-K team, we want 100% engagement and comprehension from our students. One solution is the introduction of interactive whiteboards to our classrooms. When using the board for the first time with our students, we were able to observe their excitement and notice they were visualizing learning in a whole new way.
